Some blogs start with a grand plan. This one started with a need to get outside.

I’d been traveling with Luna for years. Road trips, weekend stays, beaches, bookstores, farmer’s markets, but never really documented any of it. Last summer I started looking for places close to home, somewhere new to take her on a weekday, and I kept running into the same recycled lists with the same ten places and no real detail about any of them.

So I built this instead.

The Leash & Lens is a record of places Luna and I have actually been. Hotels we’ve stayed in, restaurants with patios that meant it, parks she approved of, and the occasional detour that turned out to be worth it. I take all the photos. Luna is in most of them.
